Ah…a trip to Third Man! That door you were standing by, it’s much cooler past that point where you can see the recording studio (The Blue Room) and other stuff. But I felt the same way when I saw the actual store. I was all, “Really…what’s so big about this?”

Sounds like you guys had a good trip. We really enjoyed our trip to Nashville a while back. So much so, that I almost got a job there back in the winter. Amy wants to go again soon.

Enjoyed the recap!

Yeah, push ups and crunches are a great idea. I’m now planning on doing some of those daily. Thanks for the suggestion. I also have access to some yoga programs through my cable provider, so that’s another good option for me to work on body tone rather than pure weight loss.

There’s a kind of famous reddit post from 4 years ago about that 100 push up program you mentioned. It’s been parodied many times.

You should try push ups. Very simple to get started. Don’t need weights, don’t need a gym. Just need you and the floor. And you might not think it’s hard, but I challenge you to drop down right now and crank out as many as you can.

I’ve got an app for my phone from http://hundredpushups.com that takes you through a 7 week program to be able to complete 100 push ups at one time. It’s pretty tough. You don’t have to have the app to do the plan.

Ron hates to sleep in hotels/motels. I can think of only 2, maybe 3 grungy ones in our 39 yrs. of marriage, but I guess it would depend on who you ask. The very best hotel we ever stayed in was the Washington D.C. Hilton. We got a super deal or we’d never have been able to afford it!

Wait…was the little girl in the pool my daughter, Iliana? Every time she swims, she informs me that she is a mermaid.

I agree about the proprietary junk. I don’t see why they can’t support epub like everyone else. Amazon is working with OverDrive to make Library Lending available later this year. [Press Release] But I bet they could support OverDrive a lot quicker if the Kindle read epub files.

It makes me feel a bit better when a computer savvy person like you has trouble with “stuff.”
More than that, though, I’m sorry for your troubles. But I’m glad it worked out as well as it did.
Everybody seems to love their Kindle. One drawback has been its proprietary-ness. When they come into the library looking to sign on for OverDrive, they are so disappointed to find out they can’t. Having to pay for titles they could get for free is discouraging to them. Of course, they can still use a PC, but it’s a lot bulkier to carry around! :)

“The heart wants what the heart wants.” Not sure who said that (Ziva on NCIS?) Not even sure I wanna buy into that notion. But, that being said, I still want an iPad.
Hope you get it soon and are pleased with the product. It looks pretty cool.

Pioneer Woman! WIN! Amy loves the Pioneer Woman. We have her cookbook and I’m responsible for the cinnamon rolls. I have made them quite a few times and, not trying to brag, but they are pretty awesome. That’s less of a shout out to my baking skills and more of a compliment to Pioneer Woman and her awesome recipes. Amy makes the Pico. It’s awesome. I told Amy the other day that I wanted to do a “Julie & Julia” type walk through of her cookbook.

Sounds like you had a great birthday!

Aw, that warms the cockles of my heart. (not sure what those are- but they’re warm!) I’m glad Nicholas is home, especially for your Mom & Dad.
Who do all the little girls belong to? I was assuming your Aunts, but they left and the girls are still on the scene.
Fun times.

You’re hot tub story is hilarious.
Tonite the temperature has gone down into the 40’s and it’s very windy. Ron parked the car with the driver’s side door about 15′ from our front door. He doesn’t want to be in the cold any longer than he has to! (fully dressed!)

Every year, while they were in high school, the boys went to Roatan after a week of hard missions work in Honduras. They loved snorkeling and scuba diving there. Doug’s friend, Andrea, was baptized there. But IF I were ever to go to Honduras, I would go by cruise ship. (I’m REALLY spoiled!)

Ron and a couple other guys on the cruise went diving at Cozumel. He said it was even more beautiful than the Caymans. I braved the souvenir shops with all the haggling sales people. I bought a marble and quartz chess set for the boys. (they were teenagers at that time)
