Sony Support Wrap-Up

I just realized that I never posted about what happened with the Sony NWZ-A728 walkman not being compatible with the SRS-NWZ10 cradle.

When I last posted, a Sony Product Specialist said he was going to talk to a Product Engineer and get back to me. It took him a couple days, but he finally called me and said that the products fit together. He also sent me some pictures to prove it.

If you look closely at the inner ridge, you can see that it’s a tight fit. I tried it with ours and ended up having to bend the jack and circuit board back to get the walkman to connect. The walkman is unstable because we can’t use the attachment that would provide support to the unit if the attachment would fit in the cradle. Also, the walkman tends to easily pop off of the jack when touched because it is squeezed into the cradle.

Technically, the cradle is compatible with the walkman, so I’m not going to be pursuing a return/refund for the product. We’ve used it successfully a few times, but I’d like to alter the cradle so that the walkman fits more comfortably. I might have to use a sanding cylinder on my electric drill to wear down some of the plastic on the dock.

Other than the compatibility issue, I’d say that the SRS-NWZ10 speaker system is pretty cool. The speakers are 7.25 inches high and put out some impressive sound for their size (and price).

this vaguely reminds me of my current tire situation with my car. my front right tire has been leaking air; i have to refill it about once a week.

josh and i took it to a shop to have it repaired. they told us there was no leak and they refilled it for us.

i'm still really confused about it .. and still refilling my tire.

Sounds like a wonderful idea, honey! Thanks for offering to do that for me. Will you be doing it soon? Such as, this weekend?
