Above The Mezzanine
Last Monday was my actual birthday. I had to work, but Molly and I stopped at McDonald’s on the way in. The work day wasn’t so bad. No cake or anything, but I had left over Chipotle for lunch. After work, Molly took me to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. The day was filled with awesome food.
After dinner, Molly had to pick some stuff up at Borders and while we were there she bought me “Sainthood” by Tegan and Sara. It’s an excellent album.
When we got home, I opened a card from her and another present. She got me a nice grill tool set to go with my new grill. I’ll be using it this week to make some kabobs and turkey burgers.
Later in the week, my present from Nicholas arrived. He got me two books: “Watership Down” by Richard Adams and “Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universes, Time Warps, and the 10th Dimension” by Michio Kaku. Both excellent additions to my book collection.
If you haven’t signed up for Red Robin’s birthday club yet, you should take some time to do it now. They e-mailed me a coupon for a free burger (usually runs close to $10) and I also got a free sundae when we went there after church on Sunday. What a deal!
Sunday night, I went to the David Gray concert with Ryan. Our seats were in the upper balcony and quite uncomfortable, but I’m not going to complain much. Especially since the tickets were free. I won them by calling in to The Sting, a local college radio station, way back on December 11th.
Overall, the concert was really good. The opening band, Phosphorescent, wasn’t that great. I enjoyed two of their songs, but I could have done without the rest. David Gray played a good mix of older and newer songs. I recognized all of them except one of his newest ones.

I'd have to put it in a special memory box with that sweet picture. (or something of that sort)
