Christmas 2008
January 16th, 2009
Molly and I went to Pennsylvania for Christmas. The drive there was quite treacherous because it was raining and the temperature was close to freezing. We made it there safely, but arrived later than we’d planned. I had forgotten all but one of my shirts in the closet at home, so I made a quick trip to Kohl’s before we went over to the Fisher’s for Christmas Eve celebrations. My dad had bronchitis and that kept him from coming to join us.
Christmas morning, Molly and I opened our stockings together in the hotel before going to my parent’s house. Once there, my mom made us breakfast and we opened presents.
I got:
- Mario Kart for Wii
- Game Party for Wii
- Videogame Ottoman
- Get Fuzzy day-to-day calendar
- “As Simple As Snow” by Gregory Galloway
- Cable & Deadpool Volume 2
- Tegan & Sara - The Con
- Cloud Cult - The Meaning of 8
- Good Hope Vanilla tea from The Republic of Tea
- Storage case for DS games
- House shoes
- Wallet
After opening presents, we went to Pop’s house for Christmas with my mom’s side of the family. We ate turkey and such, then we opened presents. After that we had dessert, visited, and played dominoes. I guess we weren’t paying enough attention to our game of dominos because Pop cut it short.
Back at my parent’s house we played a game that I got Molly called Quelf. It’s a crazy random game. At one point I had to shape my body as an X until my next turn, Nicholas had to hold a card between his toes until his next turn, Molly had to act like a weeping willow, and I had to do the chicken dance. Mom and Nicholas didn’t like it, but the rest of us had a good time.
On Friday, we played Sequence. Molly and I vs. dad and Daniel. Our team lost. That night, we had our annual shrimpfest. We usually do it on New Year’s Eve, but since we were all together and wouldn’t be then, we had it early. Maria’s peeled and ate her shrimp with intensity and then all of a sudden she was done and off playing. It was cute.
Saturday morning we went to Bob Evans with Pop, Nicholas, and Daniel. Then we packed up and headed for Elmira, NY to have lunch with my dad’s side of the family. It was great to see everyone, especially since we weren’t going to be able to make it to the holiday party in January. The drive back home was ok except for some fog that rolled in once I gave the wheel to Molly. We made it home safely and had a relaxing Saturday night and Sunday before going back to work on Monday.

I'll bet your mom and Nicholas are introverts!
Would that be a Nintendo DS games storage case?
Yes, it's a storage case for Nintendo DS games. Hopefully, it will keep our games from getting lost. They're so small!
