Senate Finalizes FISA Bill with Telecom Immunity Intact
February 13th, 2008
Yesterday, the Senate rejected the Dodd-Feingold amendment to FISA that would take out retroactive immunity for telecom companies who participated in Bush’s illegal warrentless wiretapping.
What are our Senators telling us?
That the President is above the law.
That privacy doesn’t matter.
Hopefully, the House (whose FISA bill excludes telecom immunity) will stand firm and not just accept the Senate’s version of the bill. Contact your representative and urge them to take a stand for privacy and the law.
